【Objective】 To investigate the effects of exogenous jasmonic acid (JA) on the food use of Lymantria dispar (L.) Larvae induced by Populus cathayana Rehd. 【Method】 Two kinds of jasmonic acid (0.001 and 0.1 mmol / L) were sprayed on the seedlings of Populus euphratica in the laboratory, and 0.2% acetone solution was sprayed on the leaves. The leaves were collected on the 1st, 5th and 10th days after spraying, Changes in biomass content. On the other hand, the young Populus tomentosa seedlings were sprayed with 0.1 mmol / L jasmonic acid, and the second instar larvae of Gypsy moths were fed on the 1st, 5th and 10th days after spraying, respectively. The feeding, body weight, Period, statistical analysis of its food digestibility, conversion rate and utilization. 【Result】 The results showed that the contents of soluble protein and soluble protein in Populus davidiana decreased with the treatment of two concentrations of jasmonic acid, while the content of lignin, tannin, flavonoids and phenols increased. The content of protein and soluble sugar was the lowest on the 10th day. The highest concentration of jasmonic acid was 46.5% and 49.1% lower than the control, while the low concentration was 30.6% and 22.8% respectively. The content of phenolic compounds in leaves increased most significantly on the 10th day of high concentration treatment, increased by 102% compared with the control. Lignin, flavonoids and tannic acid had the highest contents at the 5th day of treatment, and the treatments with high concentration increased 113%, 75% and 57% respectively compared with the control. After digestion with 0.1 mmol / L jasmonic acid, the digestibility, transformation efficiency and utilization rate of the leaves of 2nd instar larvae of Gypsy moth decreased. After 1, 5 and 10 days, the food utilization rate 29.4%, 27.6% and 28.2% lower than that of the control respectively, and larval weight was reduced and the developmental duration was prolonged. 【Conclusion】 The results suggest that P. euphratica induced by exogenous jasmonic acid can produce obvious biochemical resistance to Gypsy moth. In practice, this biochemical resistance may be used to control the harm of Gypsy moth.
