This review paper outlines the progress of heat transfer due to light radiation in multilayer insulation currently under study. Also briefly summarized the previous study of multi-layer insulation, which are written in the “progress of low-temperature engineering,” a book. In addition, Tien and Cravalhos articles describe some of the special problems of radiative heat transfer at low temperatures. By introducing the author’s own research on experiments and analysis, the multilayer insulation discussed in this article has been extended to the recent study to estimate the efficiency of heat transfer in advance. In addition, the research on this area also introduced and discussed the established relationship. At the same time, some points about the future research in low temperature insulation technology are also pointed out.
