From June to October 1936, American journalist Edgar Snow visited the base areas of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and wrote the book The Voyage of the West Bank, becoming the first foreign country to break the barrier of the Kuomintang interrogating the base areas of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region reporter. How Snow was going to the revolutionary base of the Northwest at that time? It has been a matter of concern for many years. For this reason, the translator of this article had written to Helen Foster Snow, ex-wife of Snow. In June 1983, she sent the article “How did Snow go to Northern Shaanxi?” And recounted some of the circumstances in which my underground party helped Snow visit. Now published in the translation, the text described in the historical facts, there is no check, some places made abridged, for reference purposes only.
