从19世纪中期特别是清末民初以后,封闭的农业、手工业经济逐步向半封建、半殖民经济形态转型,作家们的经济生存方式、价值理念、审美意识等发生了相应的变化,开始以新的文化立场审视经济结构变化中的人、事,不再避谈金钱、物质,而是将经济基础视为考察人物在社会生活中是否自由独立的重要维度,经济生活与人的解放之关系成为书写的重要内容,文学逐步走出古典形态。新的文学既批判封建经济关系对生命的压制与蔑视,又解剖现代资本与封建势力相互缠绕致使社会畸形发展的现象,其中寄托着经济转型过程中知识分子的人文情怀与价值立场,是一种经济因素和现代性不断生长的文学。
From the middle of the 19th century, especially from the end of the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, the closed agricultural and handicraft industries gradually transformed into semi-feudal and semi-colonial economies, and the authors changed their economic survival mode, value concept and aesthetic awareness accordingly.
