我们今天在谈到世界文学时,总会从歌德的乌托邦式猜想说起,认为这个概念是从西方引进的。歌德受益于世界文学,同时也建构了“世界文学”概念,他和世界文学的关系是相互的和双向的。作为一个旅行的概念,世界文学的构建最初得益于东方文学,在西方语境下形成后又旅行到东方诸国,在旅行的过程中产生了不同的版本。中国现代文学为了跻身世界文学之林,曾通过大面积地翻译西方文学达到与世界文学的接轨。在全球化时代,经中国学者的重新建构,世界文学从假想成为审美现实,增加了东方文学的精神和内涵,真正实现了它的双向旅行。
When we talk about world literature today, we always start with Goethe’s utopian conjecture and consider this concept to be imported from the West.
