Objective To develop a measurement tool that can accurately and scientifically screen high risk population of critically ill patients with oral complications. Methods Based on the relevant oral complications assessment scale abroad, combined with brainstorming method, expert consultation, clinical status quo and other methods to determine the “high risk risk assessment scale of oral complications in critically ill patients” entry pool, invited five nursing experts, two oral Experts evaluated the validity of the content and tested 50 ICU nurses. A random sample of 100 critically ill patients was then evaluated using the Risk Assessment Scale for the Risk of Oral Complications in critically ill patients to test the accuracy of this scale for screening patients with oral complications. Results The final version of the Cronbach’s a coefficient of 0.815 for the assessment of risk for oral complications in critically ill patients (containing 7 aspects of oral condition assessment and oral p H values) showed that the content-validity index (S-CVI / Ave) was 0.932 and it was very important and important for 50 nurses to evaluate 91.2% of the scale entries. The sensitivity of 97.53%, specificity of 94.11%, positive predictive value of 98.75%, negative predictive value of 88.89% and coarse consistency of 95.00% for patients with high-risk oral complications were screened. Conclusion The risk assessment scale of oral complications in critically ill patients has a good reliability and validity. The screening test has high accuracy and can be used in the screening of critically ill patients with high-risk oral complications to help clinical nurses quickly complete oral conditions in critically ill patients evaluation of.
