自动电位差计和自动平衡电桥在测量线路上,都要采用滑线电阻,它是一个很重要的部件,仪表的示值误差、记录误差、不灵敏区以及仪表运行的平滑性等都与滑线电阻的质量有关。对其基本要求是:耐磨、抗氧化、电阻的非线性误差和电阻的温度系数要小。绕制滑线电阻常用的材料有:通用型锰铜、镍铬铝铜合金(伊文丝)、镍铬铝铁合金(卡玛丝)。以前,滑线电阻丝大多数是通用型锰铜,目前国内外仪表中的滑线电阻大部分是伊文丝或卡玛丝制成的。其主要成份为:Cr18~20%、Al 2~4%、Cu1~3%(卡玛丝中取代为Fe 1~3%)、Ni为余量。
