泰国在海鲜食品生产方面已成为东南亚地区首屈一指的国家,其年渔获量为180～280万吨.水产品现已列为五种国家主要出口项目之一.泰国海鲜食品的海外销售额增长很快.1977～1982年间均仅29200万美元,1988年就一跃达到172000万美元.1989年预计增长30%而达到224000万美元.
Thailand has become the leading country in Southeast Asia for seafood production with a catch of 1.8-2.8 million tonnes a year. Aquatic products are now listed as one of the five major national export projects. The growth of overseas sales of seafood in Thailand is very strong The figure was only 292 million U.S. dollars between 1977 and 1982, reaching 172.2 million U.S. dollars in 1988 and an estimated 30% increase in 1989 to reach 2.24 billion U.S. dollars.
