在1920年代中国哲学与怀特海的第一次握手中,宗白华与怀特海的有机哲学邂逅。比较他们的哲学和美学思想,可以看到,两者都肯定美与审美源于自然,“美”是自然之“真”;都认同世界生成过程中的创造性活力;都重视形式的有机性质和创生能力,都高度重视作为宇宙生命最深奥秘的节奏与美和艺术的内在联系。对于宗白华的美学思想,学术界往往从“中华性”的角度加以审视和关注。但通过以上几个重要方面同怀特海哲学的美学内涵进行对照,可以清楚地看到,无论是其有机宇宙论的哲学观念还是具体的美学思想,都既是中华的,又具有“世界美学”意义。
During the first handshake of Chinese philosophy and Whitehead in the 1920s, Zong Baihua and Whitehead’s organic philosophy met. Comparing their philosophical and aesthetic thoughts, we can see that both of them affirm that beauty and aesthetic originate from nature, and that “beauty” is natural “true ”; both agree on the creative vitality in the process of world formation; The organic nature and creativity of students all attach great importance to the internal connection between the rhythm and the beauty and art that are the deepest mysteries of cosmic life. For Zong Baihua’s aesthetic thoughts, academics often examine and pay attention from the perspective of “Chineseness”. However, through comparing the above important aspects with the aesthetic connotation of Whitehead’s philosophy, we can clearly see that both the philosophical concept of its organic cosmology and the specific aesthetic thought are both Chinese and world aesthetic, "significance.
