在北京长住的300多万外地人口中,有相当一部分人从事商业活动,他们有的是腰缠万贯、日进斗金的大款,有的是惨淡经营混个温饱的小贩,也有的是比上不足比下有余拥有一定资金和固定门脸的小老板。本文所描述的生意人,大都是后二种,而笔者又从这两种人中挑出两样买卖人,即“专门吃小字饭”的和“专门吃大字饭”的进行剖析,并无他意,只是揭示一下这些人的生存状态而已,讲述一下老百姓自己的故事。
Of the more than 3 million foreigners living in Beijing, a considerable number are engaged in commercial activities.
