京剧老旦剧目人物所运用的眼神,是经过加工、提炼、美化的一种技巧表现。眼神反映出人物的性格和内心活动,使得情感传递的过程丰腴饱满,人物形象更加生动鲜活。老旦行当运用的眼神看似容易,其实不然,因老旦眼神体现出了深刻的内涵与功夫。舞台上瞬间的情感变化要通过一个眼神来表现,就要通过眼神的凝练、凝聚恰到好处的塑造舞台人物形象,反映人物情感的层次,达到老旦行当表演艺术的至高境界。
