An 1.5D equilibrium evolution code was used to model the time evolution of thefirst ohmic discharges in the EAST experiment.Good agreement between the sinmlation and theexperimental results was obtained in the plasma current, major radius, electron temperature, loopvoltage and poloidal field (PF) current for the entire duration of the discharge, which indicates thatthe code is highly reliable and will allow to further study the EAST discharge. At the same time.the code also simulates some important plasma parameters without experimental measured datayet, such as the plasma minor radius, central and edge safety factors, elongation and triangilarity, which are important in the analysis of EAST data.
