PaLATE, a pavement environment and economic life cycle assessment tool (PaLATE), is used to determine energy savings and CO2 emissions benefits from recycle of recycled asphalt pavement materials (RAPs) based on energy consumption data from hot-mix asphalt plants. The results show that the use of 30% RAP material mixture requires only 84% of the energy consumption of the new hot mix asphalt and 80% of the CO2 emissions. Although the performance of the mixture containing RAP material is different from that of fresh asphalt mixture, if the RAP material pavement is used to reach more than 80% of the life of the fresh mixture, from the point of view of life cycle, it can save energy and reduce CO2 Emissions have positive significance. The use of RAP in pavement mixes is a stable and feasible way to make the pavement greener.
