Barbara Tacchman was Pulitzer Prize twice for his remarkable history of war and was voted the first female director of the Academy of Arts and Design. She claims to be “a writer of history as an artist” and redefines the identity of historical narrative artists. She inquires through her historical writing practice and attacks on the “distinction of literature and history” that lasted for more than 2500 years. It is precisely because of its historical readability and great influence that Thachman undoubtedly became the most pioneering American public history writer in the 20th century.
