民族院校是党和国家为解决国内民族问题，培养少数民族干部而创办的社会主义新型高等学校，４０多年来，取得了令人瞩目的成绩，积累了宝贵的办学经验。在新的形势下，民族院校的发展面临严峻的挑战，因此，必须努力探索面向２１世纪改革与发展的思路。本文提出，当前要注意解决好学校定位，管理体制改革，各校之间的分工，专业结构的调整，提高教育质量，完善多层次、多形式的办学体系及多渠道筹措办学资金等问题，使民族院校的发展同国家高等教育发展的总趋势相适应
For more than 40 years, the national institutions of higher learning have made remarkable achievements and accumulated valuable experience in running schools. Under the new situation, the development of nationalities colleges and universities is facing severe challenges. Therefore, we must make great efforts to explore the train of thoughts for the reform and development in the 21st century. This paper proposes that we should pay attention to solving the problems such as school orientation, reform of management system, division of labor among universities, adjustment of professional structure, improvement of education quality, improvement of multi-level and multi-form running system and financing of running a school through multiple channels The development of national colleges and universities is compatible with the general trend of national higher education development
