Nuclear-associated antigen Ki-67 is a proliferating cell-associated nuclear antigen that belongs to the non-histone proteins in the nucleus. It is overexpressed in many human malignancies, especially lung cancer. Ki-67 can reflect the occurrence, development and metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer and can be used as one of the markers of cell proliferation. In recent years, the study found that although Ki-67 does not reflect the biological behavior of small cell lung cancer, but it helps to determine the pathological type. This article reviews the studies on Ki-67 in oncology, especially the relationship with different types of lung cancer.
