The large number of historical documentaries appearing at the end of the 20th century show that the scope of the performance of recorded films is gradually expanding and the depth of presenting reality is increased. As reality is an extension and result of history, historical documentaries also serve as a revelation for the future and stand at the threshold of the new century Looking back to history is to look forward to the future better. This article is based on the last chapter of “Slow Motion,” by Eric Barnour, Internationally Influenced (World Documentary Film History), Second Rev. 1993. Due to limited space, only some of which are published here. The original text is about 50,000 words.
