Since the proposition of abolition of death penalty proposed by Italy’s Beccaria in 1764, the dispute over the abolition of the death penalty has lasted for more than two hundred years. The debate on the death penalty in our country lasted for about 20 years. There have been two voices in the world that have been written about the death penalty, and the controversy over the death penalty has never stopped in over 200 years. With the ongoing social context of the human rights movement in the world, the death penalty has once again become the focus of attention. This article intends to expound my views on the origin of the death penalty abolition theory, the status quo and the development trend of future death penalty.
