Hypoglycemia in preterm infants is a serious condition that can lead to permanent brain damage. We have recently found significant hypoglycemia (blood glucose <2 mmol / l) in these infants with routine blood transfusions and blood products, and may consider this previously unrecognized complication likely to be common. There were 14 hypoglycemic episodes in 6 infants with blood glucose fluctuations of 0-2 mmol / l. Hypoglycemia may be due to a drastic reduction in glucose infusion rates during blood transfusions. Standard glucose infusion is usually stopped on transfusion. We use the blood glucose concentration of 20.7 ~ 23.1 mmol /
