Objective To investigate the changes of serum granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in patients with gastric cancer and their clinical significance. Methods Serum G CSF and CRP levels in 47 patients with gastric cancer were determined by ELISA and compared with benign gastric tumors and normal controls. Results The levels of serum CSF and CRP in gastric cancer patients were significantly higher (P < 0.01), and were related to the clinical stages of the disease and the degree of tumor differentiation (P <0.05). Serum G CSF and CRP levels after resection of gastric cancer patients. Significantly lower (P < 0.01). Conclusion The serum levels of G CSF and CRP can be used as an indicator to judge the condition of patients with gastric cancer and observe the curative effect.
