“乙醇氧化生成乙醛”是化学教材(人教版)第二册(必修加选修)中的一个演示实验。实验时,用一端弯成螺旋状的铜丝放在酒精灯上加热,使铜丝表面生成一层黑色氧化铜,趁热把它插入盛有乙醇的试管中,反复操作几次后,闻到有刺激性气味的物质生成,观察到铜丝表面又变为红色。此实验操作非常简单,现象也比较明显,但就此断定是乙醇被氧化生成了乙醛,是很难令人信服的,刺激性气味的物质未必就是乙醛。对此,我们进行了如下改进:
