中国美术的发展在改革开放之后,面对一个非常重要的使命,就是要对人类共同价值这个根本性的话题做出反应,这是所有的视觉艺术都要面对的一个命题。怎么介入这样一个话题中来,就中国画来讲,首先是需要一个形态的现代转型。现在回头来看,这种转型则是多方向性的,有走向表现水墨、构成水墨、先锋水墨等多个路径来实现当代性转变;也还有一类是站在传统文脉的主线上来进行转型,既保持中国画形式语言的形态与艺术审美精神的内核而又进行语言的重构与表达主题的当代性切入;再有一类是现实主义语言形态下当代题材的植入,也就是旧瓶装新酒。
