According to a specimen of nearly adult avian bird preserved in the Yixian Formation of Early Cretaceous, Ningcheng, Inner Mongolia, a new genera and species of early bird are reported, Tianyuornis cheni gen. et sp.nov.). The new taxa are most similar in character to Redshanks (Hongshanornis longicresta, Longicrus avis houi and Parahongshanornis chaoyangensis), such as body size and hind limbs are significantly longer than forelimbs, but also have A series of different features from the other members of the Red Mountains family, including the preservation of teeth in both the upper and lower jaws, and the straight cusps (special “S” -shaped bones were once considered as the proximate feature of Redshanks) , Distal sternal lateral scoliosis fan-shaped expansion. These characteristics indicate that the new specimen is a new species of Redshank. The discovery of this new species has made the Redshank Bird Division the pre-Early Cretaceous present-day bird species known to have the highest species diversity. In addition, the new specimen enriches many new important morphological information of bird species in the Red Mountains, confirming that the bird still retains the tooth structure.
