英语是一门多词性的语言,词性转化千变万化,丰富多彩。随着语言的发展,名词间的相互转化使英语更简明,更生动,且带幽默感。如tiptoe一词在She tiptoed down the stairs一句中作动词用时就使人很容易地联想到“她”蹑手蹑脚地走下楼梯的情景。本文就名词活用作动词的种类加以分析,以期达到抛砖引玉的效果。一、表示动植物的名词活用作动词’1.He wolfed down his lunch.他狼吞虎咽地吃了午饭。2.Helen didn’t chicken out.海伦没有因为胆怯而退却。
English is a multi-lingual language. The transformation of the part of speech is ever-changing and colorful. With the development of language, the mutual transformation of nouns makes English more concise, more vivid, and with a sense of humor. When the word tiptoe was used as a verb in the phrase “She tiptoed down the stairs”, it was easy to think of the scene in which “she” crept down the stairs. This article analyzes the types of nouns that are used as verbs in order to achieve the effect of citing jade. First, the term vegetal and plant life is used as a verb. He wolfed down his lunch. He gorged on lunch. 2.Helen didn’t chicken out. Helen did not retreat because of timidity.
