美国在对输水管线进行全面调查时发现,输水过程中由于渗漏和破裂等原因造成水的损失量为10%～20%。针对这个问题美国很多输水公司都研究出了相应的防范与检测措施,获得了显著效果。例如麻州的一家公司通过采取适当措施将水的损失量在25000000加仑/d的基础上降低了80%。
