中国没有史诗,没有悲剧,没有神话,没有宗教,好像脸上无光。何以见得?不是中国也有神话、悲剧、佛教之类吗?答曰:以西方模式的宗教神话、悲剧史诗论,中国是没有的。宗教没有教宗,悲剧没有西方的自觉,是大团圆的悲剧。大团圆意识深入文学家意识,少数天才如《红楼梦》是想写悲剧的,还是弄成大团圆。中国的神话,是零星的,非系统的。神话、英雄,加天才,即史诗,中国没有此物。整个《诗经》是悲苦之声。我骂儒家,是将好好一部《诗经》弄成道德教训,诗曰如何如 China has no epic poems, no tragedies, no myths, no religion, as if there was no light on the face.
