Because of its high efficiency, quickness, small pollution and low energy consumption, the subway has become one of the effective ways to alleviate urban traffic pressure and improve people’s quality of life. However, with the gradual increase of the excavation depth of the foundation pit in our country and the deforming control requirements of the foundation pit becoming more and more strict, the traditional construction technique of the Shunfa method can not meet the needs in the current construction, and more and more limitation. The semi-inverse method because of its savings in working hours, good force, less impact on the surrounding buildings and other characteristics of the foundation pit project has been more and more widely used. Based on the case study of a subway excavation in Hangzhou, the article starts from the research and practical application of the semi-inverse method at home and abroad, and focuses on the analysis and discussion on its impact on the deformation control and environmental effects of the subway excavation.
