由于子宫内膜异位症患者腹腔微环境的改变,炎性细胞因子、雌激素水平升高、内膜缺氧等因素促进体内促血管形成因子占优势,造成血管过度生成,促进了异位内膜的种植、生长和侵袭,血管内皮生长因子(VEGF)是至今鉴定出来的作用最强、特异性最高的促血管形成因子。通过对血管生成和调控机制的研究,为抗血管形成治疗提供重要的理论依据,可望为子宫内膜异位症的治疗另辟新径。
