There are two types of ocean currents in China’s coastal waters: coast and coast. The former is generated by waves and mainly carries sediments within the breakwaters. The latter, part of China’s marginal sea circulation system, is located outside the breakband and mainly carries silt and clay fine-grained sediments. In some Chinese literature, both are called “coastal flows.” It is easy to create conceptual confusion and analyze errors on the issue. To avoid confusion, the “coastal flow”, which is part of the marginal sea circulation system, should be referred to as the coastal flow and can be directly referred to as the Bohai Current for a specific “coastal flow” such as “Bohai coast flow”. The two currents can be in the same direction, opposite or at an angle. The spatial distribution of sediments in the northern coast of Shandong is obviously controlled by waves, coastal circulation systems (coastal flow, rivulet flow) and coastal flow.
