After the mergers and acquisitions, in the new company, whether the start-up company is an independent department or is intertwined with other departments and ultimately determines the success or failure of the acquisition. The key is where the acquired startups are in their life cycle. For the past decade, big companies have been acquiring startups in Silicon Valley, and the recent efforts of the nascent, disruptive innovators are forcing them to step up. However, the results of most acquisitions have been disappointing. From these failed cases, what lessons can the company learn? The answer is: After the acquisition, there are two kinds of strategies that can be adopted. The key point lies in which stage of the life cycle of the acquired start-up company.
