Muji Lisi was one of the most important ports in the western section of the Maritime Silk Road in the Han Dynasty and played an irreplaceable role of transit in the trade between the east and the west at the time of the Silk Road. Pepper and other Oriental properties were brought together in Mujeris, making it a major source of merchants in Rome. Powerful Roman Empire consortium sent a large number of agents, starting from the Red Sea port to Mujilisi. These Roman merchants formed a temporary commercial settlement at Mujeris, where they engaged in the trading of various commodities and also brought Roman culture here. The family consortium, the long-haul trading organization of business agents, gradually spread to India and Central Asia in Roman Oriental business practices, culminating in the acquisition of Sogdian merchants.
