Objective To compare the blood flow of human dental pulp, finger, forearm and gingiva with laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) to evaluate the ability of the blood flow meter to measure the flow of dental pulp. Methods Laser wave Doppler flowmeter was used to measure the signal of the maxillary central incisors and the incisors of the central incisors after the removal of the rubber cochlea in 28 subjects’ fingertips, forearm, gingiva, opacity Measurement results, and statistical analysis. Results The blood flow signals in all measurement areas were greatest at the fingers, followed by gums, gum-free teeth, forearms, rubber-damped teeth. The blood flow signal of the teeth using the opaque rubber barrier is close to zero. Conclusion The experimental results show that the human dental pulp blood flow signal is very low, and the blood flow meter has some limitations on the detection of pulp blood flow.
