As a famous structural engineer in Germany, Jörg Schlaich (JS) is known around the world for its innovative and breakthrough bridges and the design of complex structures such as long-span roofs. He and Mr. Frey Otto became acquainted with their own student days. At the 1972 Olympics Sports Facilities Roofing Project in Munich, they worked together and fiercely in disagreements, eventually bringing about this wonderful architecture. The interview hopes that through the structural engineer’s perspective, readers will learn more about the formation of the Olympic stadium in Munich.
