On November 19th, the exhibition “Kiefer in China” which attracted unprecedented attention was opened at the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The reason why it has become the focus of the nation’s brush screen is not only because Anselm Kiefer is one of the most important contemporary artists but also because of the artist’s strong boycott before the opening of the exhibition. Anselm Keifer claimed that the exhibition had not been approved by him and hoped that the organizers would stop holding the exhibition. The Central Academy of Fine Arts also made an emergency response saying that the exhibition was sponsored by collectors and collectors. Eventually, the exhibition was held as scheduled, which also led to a big discussion on the rights of art exhibitions.
