明代晚期中国插图的发展到达了一个高潮,图像作为信息载体的重要性迅速上升,比之文字具有更大的传播效应,在此之前图像只是作为文字的补充,插图作者的地位亦次于文字作者。本文从明代的刻书系统入手,对文学插图的发展及传播过程进行分析,发现图文背后的的社会诸面相,了解社会风尚,文化思潮,审美趣味。
The development of Chinese illustrations reached a climax in the late Ming Dynasty. The importance of image as an information carrier rose rapidly and had a greater spreading effect than words. Before that, the image was only used as a text supplement. The illustrator’s position was also inferior to that of the written author . This article starts with the engraving system in the Ming Dynasty, analyzes the process of the development and dissemination of literary illustrations, and finds out the social aspects behind the illustrations and the social customs, cultural trends and aesthetic tastes.
