In March 1987, Starbucks owners Baldwin and Polk decided to sell the Starbucks coffee shop in Seattle and the bakery. Howard Schultz then decided to buy Starbucks and merge with the 1985 daily coffee company For “Starbucks Enterprise.” Fifteen years later, a small Seattle company grew to become a large enterprise with more than 5,000 retail stores on four continents and is the world’s largest coffee retailer, coffee maker and prestigious coffee brand.
