Objective: To investigate the effect of intermittent catheterization on urinary tract infection in patients with voiding dysfunction of spinal cord injury. Methods: Thirty patients with spinal cord injury who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into control group and observation group of 15 cases. The control group was treated with indwelling catheter, while the observation group was treated with intermittent catheterization. Two groups Urine routine examination and mid-term urine culture examination were performed on week 1 and week 2 of intervention respectively to understand urinary tract infection and to observe its effect on quality of life. Results: The urinary tract infection rate in patients with intermittent catheterization was significantly lower than that in patients with indwelling catheter, and the quality of life was significantly improved (P <0.05). Conclusion: Interventional nursing with intermittent catheterization can better reduce the incidence of urinary tract infection due to voiding dysfunction in spinal cord injury, so as to better improve its quality of life.
