This article describes an ongoing project that describes the characteristics of the mechanical properties of several continuous and discontinuous fiber-reinforced aluminum alloy composites at room temperature and elevated temperatures. Specific data on tensile, compressive and shear properties at room temperature and in the temperature range of 148.9 ° to 482.2 ° C (300 ° to 900 ° F) are presented. The introduction focuses on Thorne150 (T50) graphite fiber reinforced 201 aluminum alloy system. Also listed are some preliminary data on other graphite fibers and discontinuous silicon carbide whisker composites. Described the test methods used and the standard test has been implemented. Abstract The room and high temperature data for these composites are presented.
