Dreidco’s horticulturists in the UK are studying a new method of “grafting”. Instead of grafting branches of fruit trees such as apples and plums to other fruit trees, it “grafts” them on tubes that send pressurized synthetic sap. In a large windowless building that maintains proper temperature and lighting, horticulturists supply synthetic sap from the central control room by transporting liquid pipes to densely arranged fruit tree branches. When the fruit tree matures, it will be mechanized or harvested by adding shedding hormones to the sap, and the harvested fruit will be sent by the conveyor belt.
