喻国明在《传媒》2006年第12期撰文认为,数字化是媒体业未来发展最大的质变和推动因素。与数字化时代的到来相伴随的是媒介业发展战略的重构,这种重构性的发展趋势大体上可以用5个U作为关键词来加以概括。这便是所谓的媒介业未来发展的U化战略。所谓“U”是指构成U化战略的5个U,即unite(融合)、u-niversal(普及)、user(用户)、unique(独特)、ubiquitous(无处不在)。

Accompanying the advent of the digital age is the reconstruction of the strategy of media industry development. This trend of reconstruction can generally be summarized by using 5 U as a key word. This is the so-called U strategy for the future development of the media industry. The so-called “U” refers to the five U that make up the U strategy, namely unite, u-niversal, user, unique, ubiquitous.
