准噶尔盆地是我国梭梭集中分布区(约占全国梭梭总面积68.2%)。近三十年来由于滥垦、乱樵、过牧,梭梭林严重衰退。梭梭林的天然更新效果因生态类型而异。梭梭成、过熟林隔带樵采,其迹地天然更新良好,樵采后5年伐桩萌发的幼苗总覆盖度达18.8%。在大面积强度樵采迹地和毁林垦荒后的弃耕地,人工封禁是促进梭梭天然恢复的有效途径。在准噶尔盆地边缘的沙漠、土漠、砾漠等立地上,利用冬季积雪,人工雪面撒播梭梭,是梭梭人工造林的主要手段。
