钱振文博士当年写作《〈红岩〉是怎样炼成的》时,善于做田野调查,搜集了大量的第一手资料。此书因而能围绕着《红岩》的生产与消费过程,回到历史现场,呈现出丰富的历史细节,是把“红色经典”做成文化研究的成功之作。此书给人的启发是,“红色经典”在其经典化建构中同时动用了两种经典化的生成方式,所以在特殊的历史时期能风靡一时。但由于其文学价值不足,阐释空间有限,从而使后来的文学研究陷入到某种窘境之中。由于“红色经典”实际上是社会主义的文化工业机器生产出来的大众文化产品,所以对这种产品进行文化研究不仅是可能的,而且也是必须的。而借助于民族志、接受研究和厚描等文化研究方法,往往能形成新的问题意识,进而发现文学研究中被忽略被遮蔽的方面。因此,对“红色经典”乃至整个当代文学作文化研究,应该是摆脱目前文学研究困境的路径之一。
When Dr. Qian Zhenwen wrote “How to Make a Redstone”, he was good at fieldwork and collected a large amount of first-hand information. The book thus revolves around the production and consumption of “Hongyan” and returns to the historical scene with rich historical details. It is the success of “Red Classics” in cultural studies. Inspired by this book, “Red Classic ” uses two classical ways of generating in its classic construction, so it can be used for a special period of history. However, due to its lack of literary value and limited space for interpretation, the later literary studies have fallen into some awkward situation. Since “Red Classics ” is actually a popular cultural product produced by the socialist cultural and industrial machinery, it is not only possible but also necessary to conduct a cultural study of such a product. However, with the aid of ethnography, the methods of cultural studies such as accepting the research and the thick drawings, it is often possible to form a new consciousness of problems, and then find the neglected aspects of literature research. Therefore, the study of the “Red Classics” and even the whole contemporary literature should be one of the ways to get rid of the predicament of literature research at present.
