芫花叶白前水提物和柳叶白前醇提物灌胃给药均有明显的镇咳、祛痰作用，两种白前水提物腹腔注射给药均有明显的平喘和抗炎作用。直立白薇水提物有一定的祛痰作用，但无镇咳和平喘作用；而蔓生白薇水提物有一定的平喘作用，但无镇咳和祛痰作用；两种白薇的醇提物均无镇咳和祛痰作用。结果表明两种白薇均不能当作白前入药。
The anti-tussive and expectorant effects of the aqueous extracts from the leaves of E. acuminata and the E. officinalis extracts were obvious. Inflammation. The upright Baiwei water extract has a certain expectorant effect, but no antitussive and antiasthmatic effects; while the overgrowth Baiwei water extract has a certain antiasthmatic effect, but no antitussive and expectorant effects; two kinds of Baiwei alcohol No antitussive and expectorant effects were found in the extracts. The results showed that neither of the two kinds of Baiwei could be used as a white premedication.
