By comparing the EPS and PMMA materials, the thermal changes of the two materials at 100 ℃ ~ 300 ℃ were studied. The relationship between the gas evolution and the time, the gas evolution and the temperature at two temperatures were systematically studied. The results show that the PMMA sample has a volume expansion phenomenon at about 150 ℃; the gas evolution velocity of PMMA is higher than that of EPS
