朱家溍早年毕业于辅仁大学,是宋代理学家朱熹的第二十五代世孙。他生前是北京故宫博物院研究员、国家文物鉴定委员会委员、中央文史馆馆员、九三学社文教委员会委员、著名文物专家和明清史专家,还是著名的戏曲研究家。他对古代美术史、明清历史、戏曲表演艺术造诣很深。他所主编的《国宝》成为我国国家领导人赠送外国元首的礼品,在海外成为畅销书。他的文集《故宫退食录》被评为1999年十大畅销书之一。他遵照父母的遗嘱,与其兄弟共同将珍藏的古拓本碑帖七百种、善本书两万册、明清檀木家具、宋元书画和其他珍贵文物,分三次无偿捐赠给国家,是新中国成立以来公认捐赠文物数量最多、质量最好的,备受各方赞扬。
Zhu graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University early years, is the Song Dynasty netherist Zhu Xi’s 25th generation. Before his death, he was a researcher at the Beijing Palace Museum, a member of the National Cultural Relic Appraisal Committee, a librarian at the Central Museum of History, a member of the Cultural and Educational Committee of Jiusan Society, a renowned expert in cultural relics, and a historian in the Ming and Qing dynasties, or a famous opera researcher. He has deep knowledge of ancient art history, history of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and opera performing arts. His “National Treasure”, edited by him, has become a gift of foreign heads of state by our country’s leaders and has become a bestseller overseas. His collection Collected Works of the Forbidden City was voted one of the top ten bestsellers in 1999. He complied with his parents ’wills, and together with his brothers, he collected 700 inscriptions of ancient Tuping rubbings and 20,000 rare books. Ming and Qing Dynasties’ ebony furniture, calligraphy and painting of Song and Yuan dynasties and other precious relics were donated to the country three times at no-cost. It has been praised by all parties since it was established that the largest number and quality of donated cultural relics are acknowledged.
