Zizyphus is a rhamnaceae and includes 40 species of plants in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Seven species of Zizyphus are produced in the United States and Mexico but have no economic value. Z.jujuba and Z. mauritiana Lam are the two most important species, both originated in the eastern hemisphere. The relationship between Z.jujuba and Z. mauritiana is unclear, and often
