明代的上海崇尚礼仪,墓志作为传统丧葬礼仪之一获得了繁荣发展。本文即是通过墓志资料对明代上海士人及其家族成员的葬期进行统计与分析。统计显示,葬期在7个月以下的墓主占到总数的27.09%,葬期在7个月至1年之间的墓主占到总数的21.12%,葬期为1-2年的墓主占到总数的25.50%,葬期在2-5年的墓主占到总数的14.74%,葬期在5年以上的占比为11.55%。分析认为,随着朱子家礼的传播以及明代商业的发展,民间重孝、重丧、重祭的观念不断强化,经济的富足也促使上海的士人家族要争取更多的丧祭权利,更多地表达对先人的敬意,为完成丧礼的必要程序,延长葬期成为必然的选择。
