Glowing bamboo, radio teeth, “Coke” charging handsets ... When designing into life, it becomes more relevant to each of us. Let Xiaobian take you into Beijing Design Week, take a look at those amazing new ideas. What is a design? Is it a distorted metal chair, a breathing lamp, a red-skinned sofa, a hearing botanic garden, an implanted radio tooth, an ashtray with a Soul Out, or ... yes, these are design. But not all. Beijing Design Week, designers told us: Design is not just some beautiful and useful gadgets, design is a new way of thinking, a new value orientation, a new concept of consumption. The key is that through these quirky, shiny, dazzling designs, we understand, imagine and look forward to the future of mankind. A design feast, is now staged in Beijing. A few days ago, 2011 Beijing International Design Week and the first Beijing International Design Triennial opened in China Millennium Monument. Designers from all over the world came together to bring the most advanced design concepts and the most creative ideas to Beijing.
