As tuberculosis remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the world, a new vaccine is urgently needed. TB subunit vaccines have been shown to induce potent immune responses in humans and can be used as an alternative BCG vaccine in HIV endemic areas. In this study, the authors studied the protective efficacy of 16 different new M. tuberculosis antigens using the pulmonary tuberculosis mouse model. These antigens were used as subunit vaccines in combination with dioctadecyl ammonium bromide (DDA) -D (+) and trehalose 6.6 dibenenate (TDB) (DDA / TDB) adjuvant
