According to reports, the German engineering consulting company Lurgi has obtained a contract for the construction of a methanol plant with a capacity of 5000 t/d in Trinidad. The plant will start construction in mid-2000. Lurgi said that the plant will be the largest methanol plant in the world when it is completed. Will the owner of this new plant be the Atlas Methanol Company in Trinidad and Tobago?
